Why Most Cooling Mattresses Disappoint
A cool-to-touch surface is not the same as a cool mattress.
Most mattresses marketed to hot sleepers use Phase Change Material in the cover — a chemical coating that absorbs heat when you first lie down and feels cool for the first 20 to 30 minutes. After that, it’s saturated. It can’t absorb any more heat. You warm up, and the cover stops helping.
Genuine temperature regulation requires more than a cover treatment. It requires the mattress to actively move heat away from your body throughout the night — through ventilated materials, heat-channeling layers, and coil construction that allows airflow underneath the foam. The three mattresses above do this. Most others don’t.
